Dana Allen PhD

Educated at Wheelock College (BS ’84), Bank Street College (MS ’89), and Lesley University (PhD ’16), Dana Allen has a very strong background in Human Growth and Development, Leadership in Education, and Adult Learning.

Coupled with her years teaching preschool, developing parenting curriculum & programming, and directing a family support agency, and as a mom of a large and diverse family, Dr. Dana has the experience, wisdom, and tools to come alongside parents to support them in their learning.

Dana can usually be found in the garden, at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, or cooking.

  • Bringing together personal and professional interests, Dana Allen is pursuing a passion project, researching and writing about Isabella Stewart Gardner. Through the frame of Gardner’s complex maternity and griefs, and shared through her fabulous art collection at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts, she is working to tell a timeless story of redemption and hope.   • Dr. Allen serves as co-coordinator of North Shore Postpartum Help, a network working towards supporting young families.
  • Also known as “Poppy”, Dana is a proud grandmother and mother to 7 awesome adults. She also loves travel, camping, writing, and her pup Sadie – which she combined in an epic 18,000 mile trip last year.
