VAAAN “Driver” Bios

DANA ALLEN PHD, Owner Manager – With a background in human growth and development, experience teaching, and directing a family support agency, and as a mom of a large and diverse family, Dr. Dana is passionate about helping all learners reach their goals. Dana runs “RAISING PARENTS Allen Consulting LLC”, a business devoted to encouraging support for parent learners. There, she consults as parent coach, advocate, speaker and facilitator. VAAAN is growing out of her travel and service experiences with her own family, church groups, and friends. Dana and her sidekick Sadie (pictured) can often be found together happily walking or kayaking, learning tricks, or building a camper.

JAMIE GASKIN LPC, Team Engineer – A native of North Carolina, Jamie is a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). For the last 4 years she has worked with several local non-profit Christian organizations offering counseling services to children, families, and adults. She also serves as a mentor and life coach providing support and guidance to college students and young adults. In her free time Jamie enjoys traveling, reading, and hanging out with her cat, Miles.

REBEKAH NORRIS SLP, Crew Chief – A native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Rebekah is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and holds a national Certificate of Clinical Competence.  For the past 2 years, she has worked with students ranging in age from 3 to 21 years old as a school-based SLP.  During graduate school, Rebekah served as program coordinator for a fully inclusive two-year postsecondary education program for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Western Carolina University.  Rebekah has also lived as a roommate with two different young ladies with intellectual disabilities, providing in-home and community integration support as they pursued their independent living and working goals. In her free time, Rebekah enjoys running, hiking, and reading in her hammock.
